Dear readers!

Abstract

Almost in all local scientific journals, including those devoted to medicine, the time from acceptance of the submitted articles to publication has been increasing due to the only and well-known reason which has consequences such as limitation of international contacts and “rerouting” of publications to the local journals – this consequence is beneficial for the growth in the scientific ranking of the local scientific periodicals. A call to overcome sanctions and to use independent creative approach to scientific challenges also makes a positive contribution. But these aims and wishes should correspond to the level of world science and shouldn’t be scientific fantasies. Hype in science, especially in currents circumstances in Russia is unacceptable! Stuart Ritchie’s “Science Fictions. Exposing Fraud, Bias, Negligence and Hype in Science” (2020) is the best warning about this dangerous trend. One of the most important steps to prevent development of this scenario in Russian medicine is to scrupulously select articles for publication in local journals.

Current issue of Clinical and Experimental Surgery (# 2, 2024) is polythematic. Enjoy reading!
