EDITORIAL
Abstract
Dear colleagues!
Each issue of our journal conveys an absolutely precise and certain meaning. The previous issue marked an
outstanding event of the medical sciences and practices – the 50th anniversary of the first heart transplantation
from one human being to another. The articles published in this commemorative issue were submitted
by surgeons from Asia, Europe and the USA, and this fact made our journal an international one indeed:
the journal was distributed to every participant of the 27th Annual Congress of Cardiovascular & Thoracic
Surgeons (WSTSC–2017, Astana, Kazakhstan).
Issue #4 of “The Clinical and Experimental Surgery” gives the finishing touch to the fifth year of our
work: 18 issues, 216 scientific articles, 18 editorial notes, containing information on our goals and problems
of Surgery as a specialty. One of the important results has been acknowledgment of the fact that our medical
community has received an Edition aimed at analytics, a well-founded medical and scientific experiment,
and an intellectual component of contemporary surgery, which is impossible without fundamental scientific
research. This goal was declared when the first issue of our journal was published in 2013. And we are well on
the way to this very goal: intellectual surgery is the surgery of the 21st century, and we are going to achieve it
together with our authors and readers without any doubt.
This issue contains a reference list of the articles published in the journal for the 5 years, and a reader
interested can observe the main problems discussed during this period by themselves.
Thank you for your cooperation!
